2 Month Lead Time for Delivery!
I purchased Vostro 5410 2 days back, the EDD is after 2months! this is lot of lead time but Customer case executive told it will not take that long. Today it is yet to go to production and got an information from customer care there is parts shortage! I understand this is built to order and the order option is predefined, no customization offered, then why not show before proceeding that there is parts shortage so that customer can take order decision on that basis.
Need a faster resolution on this. Please guide.

I'm sorry to hear that the cancellation has not been confirmed yet.
I've checked the record and do see that the regional team has received your request and has put your message across to the factory.
Please wait for the team to write back to you with confirmation from the factory about the cancellation. They will work with you till this is completed.

The only solution is to find a seller with a system in stock and as close to your requirements as possible, and order accordingly.
Anything custom-ordered is subject to delays.

It's not custom made, it is default offering by Dell website. Aside this model is not available with any retail stockist. Exclusive to Dell

Single orders to Dell (other than ready-to-ship) are built to order.
You can get immediate delivery for a standard build - just not direct from Dell.

Hi,
Today I requested Cancellation of the order since it is in confirmation stage for over a week and the estimated in production date will be 13th or after that, which will result in longer than I can wait. Though I confirmed on the email sent by the Customer Support Executive Sushmita, but I haven't got any confirmation from Dell that the order is cancelled or will be cancelled.
What is expected in this situation and by when I can expect the confirmation of order cancellation subsequent to that how long will it take for the refund of the amount?
Reiterating, the order is in Confirmation (Pre-Production) Stage.
