Current default playback Device not supported(fixed) then new issue with Audio Mini-Jack
Requirement:
I want to use an equaliser tool to do some adjustments.
Environment:
Vostro 5593 WinPro11 22H2. + WD19.
Primary playback output using: Audio mini-jack on front-side of WD19.
Issue:
The Wave MaxxAudioPro(ver:2.0.54.0) equiliser says: "Current default playback Device not supported". Why?
Only section of the app that I can interact with normally is the Microphone section. The "speaker" visualiser on the left side is animating during playback but all controls/dials are "greyed out".
Supplemental:
- As per screenshot below it appears that the only downloadable version is the one I already have.
- All my playback outputs are working, including Bluetooth speaker for example.
- All my Vostro drivers are up to date including firmware.
- All Apps are up to date (MSStore, MS365, winget update --all, etc.)
- My WD19 firmware and drivers are up to date.
- BitLocker enabled.
- No relevant Windows Event Viewer entries.
- sfc, dism, no errors found.
Workarounds:
- I'm thinking about uninstalling the Wave MaxxAudioPro app and look elsewhere.
- I'm not interested in having to uninstall drivers, I know this won't help.

Re-installing the same Realtek Audio driver, removed the message: "Current default playback Device not supported", meaning it's functional again. - Why it didn't work and then work after re-install of the Realtek Audio Driver, I don't know. (Driver used: Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_XF4RR_WIN_6.0.8984.1_A02.exe).
I have a new problem now: The Audio mini-jack is not responding when plugging in my headset. The headset works fine through the mini-jack, if the WD19 is plugged in. So the issue is not the headset/cable. Normally if the headset is plugged into the computer's mini-jack, it will be picked up for use in any conf tool such as Teams, Zoom, Skype.
Yes, I did check for all updates/drivers.
Yes, I did hard reset the device.
Yes, I get the issue even if the WD19 is disconnected.
Yes, I did run the dell online hardware checks, no issues.
Yes, the playback/recording entries are listed and enabled aka:(Use this device), but with the typical red-down arrow.
