Headphones jack not working - Part 2
Vostro 3500
After I received this laptop, I ran into this problem. I called support, and it was fixed: I had to go to BIOS and change a toggle. When I would shut down and later restart, I would have the same problem all over again.
Google Meet and Zoom Meeting also has conflicting problems that render the Dell PC useless, and forcing me to actually sit at the meeting instead of the comfort of home.
So it seems to be a flaw with Windows 10 and 11; Dell, and the suppliers of cards and drivers. It reminds me the problems people had with MS DOS. Third parties fixed the problems but Microsoft put them out of business!
Wished I bought something else then Dell ... a custumer since 2001.

The Windows OS cannot change a setting in the BIOS. Once you make a change in the BIOS- System Configuration- Enable Audio- Enable Microphone, Enable Internal Speakers and save that change, it should retain that setting on reboot.
Are you saying that the BIOS changes by itself back to disabling those?
Once you open any of those meeting apps, you should first check the apps Audio settings. What do they show for audio?
For example, when I open Zoom app, I click the Settings cog, I click Audio and it shows my chosen Speaker and Microphone =
