keyboard leaves marks on laptop screen

Hello

I own a Dell Vostro laptop and after closing the upper lid several times on the keyboard, the keyboard left marks on the screen similar to a "waffle" pattern. It won't come off, not even when I try to clean it, and I can't gently rub it off either. It seems like the keyboard left a permanent print on my screen. A photo is attached. What could be the explanation for that and what solution is available for the damage?

thank you.WhatsApp Image 2022-06-05 at 15.19.02.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-06-05 at 15.19.19.jpeg

If the marks don't come off (try using a soft cloth and a bit of isopropyl alcohol solution), the screen is scratched -- the only fix would be a replacement screen.

To prevent worse damage, slip a microfiber cloth between the screen and keyboard when you close it, not unlike many eyeglasses come with to prevent scratches to the lenses when they're stored in a case.

Does the guarantee cover this?

I'm having a similar issue with my laptop.

It appears to me that it would be a manufacturing defect.

Thats just plain poor quality control period.

There hardware is sketchy at best on the xps15. I already have a failed wifi card, a stripped screw for back and waffel prints on my screen from the keyboard and its only 10 months old.

QUALITY CONTROL IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE!

ITS LEGAL TO SELL GARBAGE IN THE UNITED STATES. ETHICS IS NO LONGER A PRACTICED AND IS DISCOURAGED BY NATIONAL AND MILTINATIONAL CORPS.

DELL IS NO DIFFERENT.

Wait and see what its gonna be like 5 years fom now.

Lol
