1.I want to replace my SSD 256GB  to a new 2TB NVME SSD. will it work in my dell VOSTRO 5490 P116G model ?

2 if the option is only 1TB ssd , then can i put a 2TB NVME SSD partitioned to 2X 1TB partitions ?

A 2T drive will be recognized at full capacity.

Be careful with the drive's physical depth -- most 2T will be double-sided and therefore deeper than single-sided.  Carefully measure the clearance between the drive and the base cover before buying.
