Upgrading Dell Vostro 15-3568

Is it worth upgrading a Dell Vostro 15-3568?

Hello everyone, I am using a Dell Vostro 15-3568 laptop. My specifications are:

  1. Core I3 6006U @2.00 GHz (4 of the core i3 CPU appear in the Device Manager so maybe that means it is 4 cores or something)
  2. 4 GB ddr4 RAM
  3. Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
  4. 480 GB Kingston SSD

My laptop is lagging a lot when playing games such as Roblox, Minecraft, and Rocket League, so will upgrading the RAM from 4 to 12 or 16 GB RAM (DDR4) affect the gaming quality and for coding Arduino?  I can't upgrade the CPU because it is soldered 😭And I can't use an EGPU because apparently for Vostro laptops you need an external screen for it to work.

Thanks!

No, the only way to get decent gaming performance is with a replacement system capable of gaming, which your current system is not, and cannot be upgraded to be.

You've created two (at least) threads asking the same set of questions with slight alterations several times.

You can't upgrade a system designed as an entry-level office notebook into anything remotely acceptable for gaming, and that's reinforced by the age of the system in addition to that.

Upgrading the RAM won't help the overall performance of the system, no.  You really need a more capable system than this one.

@ejn63 If I get a new mother board with a core I5 will that be good?

It may help with the CPU intensive work, but it will do little to nothing for gaming.

Also consider the value of the system itself, which is well under $100 -- there's little point in putting that much or more into it with a mainboard upgrade;  the money is better spent on a new (or newer) system.

@ejn63 So the only way to make the game get more than 1 fps and stop making the game look so pixilated is by getting a new GPU?
