Vostro 3578 battery issue

Hi,

I am having weird issue with the battery (4-cell Lithium Ion (40 WHr))

It was working fine now suddenly the charge and discharge is random. It drops to 5-7% from 60% sometimes. Charging is also weird. It jumps to 100% charge suddenly from 30% or 50%. Its just random.

Laptop is now almost 20 months old. So whether the battery is gone? It was working perfectly a week back and now this started all of sudden.

In diagnostics it shows something like your battery is reaching end of its usable life.

Any suggestions? Whether battery is gone?

The message says it all -- the battery is at the end of its life. You need a new one.

Thanks. Looks like I will have to visit Dell service center which is not nearby. Didn't wanted due to Covid however doesn't seem to have other options as online (genuine one) or on dell site I cannot find the battery for this model.
