vostro ac adapter not recognized limp mode how can I remove?
Vostro 3550 the charger works just fine and charges the battery, I have turned off the bootup error message but when plugged in this laptop slows down to unfathomable levels. I assume this is some sort of limp mode, as soon as I unplug it, it speeds up so it clearly is in some kind of safe mode because it cant recognize the charger when plugged. I want to know how I can remove this safe/ limp mode because this is a laptop I use solely to capture video with a game card and it needs to be plugged in. I used another dell Vostro 3550 ac adapter but no luck. It will charge I just need to stop this idiotic limp mode thing any ideas? PS: message to dell: stop including this feature nobody likes it and it helps no one, the only thing it does is create YouTube videos where people wonder is going on.

If the error message is that the adapter is sensed, but at a lower power level than what it's rated for, there are three possibilities:
1. The adapter is bad,
2. The DC jack in the system is bad, or
3. The charge circuit on the mainboard is bad.
First try a new OEM Dell adapter. If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the DC jack.
And if that doesn't solve the issue, the mainboard needs replacement.
