Dell Command Update 3.1 Network Error
Hi,
I've been using dell command update 2.4 successfully on a variety of machines (optiplex 7040s, optiplex 7060s, XPS laptops and latitude laptops) and recently they all seem to have automatically updated to dell command 3.1. I would like to use the new version, but when checking for updates I get the following network error: 'A problem occurred attempting to connect to your network. Please check your network settings and try again'
This happens for both cli and gui. We have a proxy and the proxy settings are set to use computer settings, but I've also tried manually setting the proxy and still have the same problem.
Not sure if this is a bug with the new update or if I need to change any settings to make this work
Any ideas are appreciated

We're looking for a release newer than 3.1 A00, that addresses the issue with the system / defined proxy being ignored.

What I was told was "I would recommend you to use the 3.0.1 version for now until February 2020 release to fix the current bugs" and when I asked for confirmation of a Feb release was told "The next ETA Dell Command Update expected to release February 2020 onwards". I'm currently just waiting and periodically checking the dell command update website!

I've noticed that 3.0 no longer suggests 3.1 as an update, so at least its no longer auto-installing the broken one on my fleet. I've got 3.0 set to autocheck on my own laptop so at least I'll know when the update is available and I can test it.

The version 3.1.1 A00 released February 2020 does not apply to PRECISION models (it seems to apply to consumer models). Even if installed on Precision T7920 ( Win 10 x64 1909 (build 18363) it continues to exhibit incorrect behaviour. "Last Updated: never" "Last checked: Never" (despite both being false).

Precision T7920 is near or at End of Life.
Dell does not support models past the 5 year SDLC Life Cycle model.
This model supports Windows 7 and 8.

Dell does does not spell out EOL (End of Life). Barring extraordinary exceptions 3 years from the RTS (Ready To Ship) date is the mark used for the last BIOS update. 5 years from the RTS date is the mark used to keep parts available for in warranty systems.
All Commercial platforms shipped in 2016 or later have WMI-ACPI 2.0 support in all BIOS versions. Older platforms use an earlier version of Dell Command | Configure. Dell does not support models indefinitely or all models with all versions of the software.

I have a problem with local repository "CatalogsPath" if it is defined on DFS for example "\\domain.com\dfs\DCU\catalog.xml" i got an return\error code 1002, it means "An error occurred while downloading a file during the apply updates operation" "Check your network connection, make sure there is internet connectivity and Retry the command." I need use local repository location.
I have Dell Command Update 3.1.1
You known fix for it?
