A problem in upgrading to vista from XP

-I am using XP Pro. in Dimension 9200 with 320 GB Disc and 2GB memory, and all configuration supported for upgradation. When I tried to upgrade, it asked for updating BIOS and MacAfee. The BIOS got updated, but Macafee had some problem during updating. It showed that an error [12152]occured during download, Please try again. Even repeated trials didnot give any fruit. Can anybody fix this ?

-Will there be any problem in using office 2002 in vista? When checked with compatible applications, it didnot show office2002.

-After seeing all these posts, Iam little reluctant to upgrade to vista thinking of divorcing vista. I was very eager to get it. But.....................

What I can suggest is to update your BIOS and then Install Vista clean. No Upgrade :D

To get McAfee go here. There you can update your McAfee before the upgrade.
Or you can install it after a clean install

Even I tried it after removing MacAfee, But in vein. I could not update a vista capable MacAfee from their own site. Will it automatically be updated after I upgrade vista ?

If you're having many troubles upgrading to Vista, you will have more problems once you are running Vista... That's why in this kind of cases is so much better to Clean install

Thanks a lot. But at last I could installit. It is running better and I like the way it does. I did not go for clean install, I have upgraded it. But as someone said, I have removed and copied all softwares to some flash drives.
I went for upgradation from the beginning. The dell upgrade manager could not update MacAfee this time also. I unchecked the option for updating MacAfee. I thought I will do it after an upgradation and it worked.
It was about three hours of many restarts. I have updated all the softwares I had, with the latest vista capable ones. Some, like infrared, Mikomi bluetooth etc are not available with the vista capable version. So I didnot do it.
Any way after too much of tension, a relief. I thought Vista may not get installed/work well. So I kept the XP cd ready on my table so that I can go for reinstallation of XP. But thank God, Vista is working well now.

A special thanks toBILL_B and GioAguilar for all the posts in helping me.

Glad you were able to successfully upgrade to Vista. I also choose to upgrade. My upgrade took about  1 1/2 hours, everything went smoothly. Mikomi seems to be a budget brand sold by retailers like Argos. As such it doesn't seem to have any support structure. There was a web site once but it has gone away. Goggle Mikomi webcam driver and you'll see what I'm talking about if you haven't already. I suggest you just chuck it and buy a new camera that has driver support for Vista.

Thank you ROGER. The site you were mentioning about is a forum for complaints on software. It has maximum complaints on Mikomi vista capable drivers. As you said, I chucked the Mikomi and brought a Logitech cam and its working well.

The screen of my vista desktop seems to show smaller fonts when opened any site. When I change the zoom level, it blurrs the bigger pictures. Is it a problem with vista ? can anybody suggest a solution  ?

Where do you see the small text, on IE, or in Windows in general???
For IE smaller fonts, you can go to the page menu (on the upper right corner) and go to text size, select the one you prefer...

I am seeing small fonts on any window opened in IE. As you said I have tried the page fonts from options. But it is not responding at all.

What resolution do you have...???
If you right click on the desktop, you can go to personalize, go to Window Color and Appearance, then click on Open classic appearance properties for more color options, a new Window should come (appearance Settings). Click on the Advanced buttom, and another Window comes up., in there you can personalize the text for the windows, icons, the title bar, etc...

My screen resolution is 1280 x 1024. I did all those you have suggested. But it is the same when I open any website. It shows the full page(only the web page in almost half of the screen. When I change the zoom level to 125%, it is somewhat clear. But then the icons or pictures in the page becomes blurr.
