Accessiblity Error 'Cannot load the enable 2.VXD'

Question

This appears every time I turn the computer on.  Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem?  It has been going on for months, I have looked every where for an answer to this, did a couple of restore points and still the error pops up.  I have found 'enable 2.VXD' in my regit so I know it's there but it is not working at all.  Also, my computer has been freezing up on me when I attempt to do more than one thing at a time too quickly i.e. Running Internet Explorer then shutting it down quickly then attempting to start up another program of ANY kind.  It freezes my computer and I have to do a restart.

Sorry just got back to my computer.  I have a Dell Dimension 4100 running Windows ME,  To my knowledge this error has been going on for months prior to downloading Majong on the computer.  As far as anything else I downloaded a new etrust virus/email/firewall but again this was occuring prior to this.  Also my stupid computer is now hanging up on things I do whether it's searching the net or writing emails or playing a game.  No ryhme or reason for this one either.  Please don't tell me I have to dump my computer system, I have so much info I don't want to lose.

So far what I have been able to establish is the vxd file that is proving to be an issue appears to be a file associated with sound. I'm thinking the route might be to reinstall the file itself but let me research a bit more. What sound card are you using? Creative Live Value?

I generally don't jump at the option to format and reinstall. Little opportunity to learn with that option though sometimes it is the only option.(I use etrust (CA) antivirus. Also on a 4100). Do you suspect you might have a virus? (Just wondering why you choose to install a new program when the system was already offering issues).

I would recommend resolving any existing issues on a system before installing software as my experience says problems tend to escalate in with new software installs.

I think you are right about the sound card because I now am beginning to get another error with sound card being referenced. I'll download it again and see if that cures the situation.

As for a virus, I have ran so many virus checks you wouldn't believe, ran through the regit did find a few abnormalities, fixed them, realized I still had a few symentec and Norton values on the regit so cleared out what I found that shouldn't be there. I needed to renew my Norton when I went online and realized my internet provider was offering full protection from Etrust for free (at least for this year) downloaded it and ran even more virus checks. Every thing is fine now with the exception of those two error messages and I think you have found my problem, thanks so much, I'll let you know if it's cured in a few days.
