activating Norton Ghost 10.0 without internet access

How can I go about activating Norton Ghost 10.0 on my
new XPS box without connecting it to the net? The CDROM envelope has the product key on the back, but apparently
that by itself is not enough. And everything I can find
in the Ghost helpfiles starts off "1. Make sure your
computer is connected to the internet...". For several
reasons, that ain't gonna happen.

Did you look at the Symantec.com site??

Some products do require an internet connection for activation. It's a drag, but us legit users get punished for what the pirates do.

Well, I figured out how to do it this morning: Just go ahead with the activation procedure without a connection to the net, click ok to all the pop-ups whining about the net connection not working, and eventually you get to a screen where you can select activation by phone. Call an 800 number, punch in 49 digits and get a 34 character key in return. Type the key in and that's that.

Now, the Ghost User;s Guide on the CDROM may say something about how to activate by phone, but the program's helpfile doesn't mention it, nor was Symantec's techsupport webpage any help.

Sheesh.
