I'm sorry , yes I do have the orginial CD which I have loaded and I also created a new CD driver from the Belkin website and tried to load it. It seems to load fine, then I connect the cable between the 2 computers and nothing happens, then sometimes when I connect the cable to the old computer or if I start up the old computer with the cable connected the computer starts the add hardware wizard . Then it fails to complete. When I look into the drivers folder there is a yellow check mark beside the belkin transfer cable. Any ideas.

The USB 2.0 Bridge Cable device is normally supplied with software CD that contains required driver.
Are you saying you don’t have an install CD?
If not already read then click here for Dell Support document – also includes relevant link to Belkin site.

If not already done, things to try:
(A) Ensure device is plugged in to a USB Root hub port, located on PC rear panel
(B) Try another USB Root hub port
If still not working & yellow exclamation is still present
1. Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button
2. Click USB Controllers [+] to expand & locate the device
3. Make sure device does not appear twice (ghost device with yellow exclamation)
4. If correct, delete the ghost device
5. If only one device appears with yellow exclamation
6. Right click device & select Properties
7. Click on Driver tab, click the Uninstall button
8. Disconnect USB device from “old PC” & reboot
9. Normally setup software is installed before hardware device is connected
10. Insert (the original) setup CD, see if it auto reinstalls required driver
11. If it doesn’t go to step 7 & click on Update Driver button
You will need to identify source of driver, (e.g. if CD is in say drive D:\)
If you have tried/done everything & it still doesn’t work !
Suggest transferring personal file data using CD burning or USB Flash drive or PC Network.
That is, unless you are determined to “prove” that the Belkin transfer cable technology does or doesn’t work?
