Adding a boot option for Inspiron 3521
I an trying to change the boot source priority in the UEFI of my windows 8.1 Inspiron 3521, as I wish to be able to have a dual boot Windows 8 and Ubuntu Linux)
I managed to reach the settings a couple times (and I am not sure I remember how because it is not at all trivial) but when I tried to define the CD/DVD drive as another boot source it showed me ONLY the two partitions that I have on my single hard drive.
Can anyone please instruct me how to make the CD/DVD drive the first boot priority and the hard disk the second priority? I would appreciate a full detailed description.

Don't use DVD installation media. Use FAT32 formatted USB flash drives:

Philip, thank you, but I am not trying to update my bios nor install another Windows OS. I am trying to install Ubuntu with dual boot (Windows 8.1 or Ubuntu)
I changed to Legacy boot and managed to boot from a DVD and start installing Ubuntu.
Unfortunately, I had to go back to Windows to change some disk partition and since then, I no longer manage to boot from a DVD. After boot I see the F2 and F12 options at the bottom roght hand side of the screen, but I can never go beyong this point when the Ubuntu installation iso image DVD is in.
Any idea what to do next? I have just restored the bios/UEFI back to factory setting.
