Admin user profile won't load
Hello,
The admin user profile won't load on my PC. I've tried running system restore but that asks for the admin password which does nothing, presumably because the account is corrupted. I've only one admin account and two ordinary user accounts. I've done a search on the web and the only solution I've found is to use the Windows DVD during boot-up, but my PC came with it pre-installed and so I don't have this (I've a dell re-installation DVD, but this doesn't work)
Has anyone any suggestions for recovering the user profile?
Thanks,
David

I have the same problem. My user account - which is the admin account - won't load. I use my computer for work, and this is very alarming.
However I have moved house twice since purchasing, and have no idea if I had the DVD mentioned, nor what it looks like, nor where I have put it.
What can I do?
I am not very computer minded.

I am worried about whether it is safe for me to continue using the PC - if it has something wrong with it that is bad enough to shut down the admin section of it, then should I risk doing my work on it? I don't want to lose it or have it corrupted.
I'd like to understand why this has happened. I purchased the PC with Vista, because my very old PC kept crashing, I was hoping to avoid problems like this as I am so reliant on the computer for my work.
