Adobe Reader

Have a Dell 4600, Windows XP installed Adobe 7, caused
system to lock up, received message that Adobe was not
able to solve the problem on this update.  What is the best
Adobe Reader for my computer?  Ed

I assume that your Windows XP is up to date with SP2?
If so, the current version of Adobe reader is 8

Go in Acrobat Reader under Edit -> Properties and disable autoupdate. Acrobat 7 works perfect on a computer similar with yours (Dell 4550)

Acrobat Reader 8 is the newest . . http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Reader/8.0/index.html

Be sure to uninstall all older versions first
