Almost Every System Update Has Required Restore

Question

Has anyone else had this problem. I have had this new Dell Dimension E521 for a week now. The only things I have installed have been Office 2007 and MS Money 2007. Office installed fine and Money required a patch.   However almost every time I agree to install a system update, which have all been either from MS or Dell, I have had to restore to a previous restore point. I haven't installed anything else.   I have had to do this at least a dozen times.   I expected some issues with Vista but it seems unreasonable that a new machine shipped with Vista should be having this many problems.   And YES I have ran all of the hardward diagnostics.

This happened to me with XP when windows update had about 30 new updates. E1505 went crazy. Had to restore to as shipped. Still don't know if it had something to do with one of the updates.
