annoying install prompts

Question

I recently bought a Dell Dimension 9150 desktop computer. For the first few weeks, everything was fine. Now, everytime a user logs on to their account, the computer keeps asking us to install some 'Sonic' software. When we click 'ok', it says we need to insert the Sonic CD in order to install it. We don't have any Sonic CD (I don't even know what kind of software Sonic is!), so we click cancel. Then the computer keeps trying to install repeatedly and shows us the same message (that we need to insert the CD). We have to press cancel like a hundred times for it to finally go away. This is so annoying because it automatically asks us to install every time we log on! Also, my friend bought the exact same computer, and she never had this problem! So my question is, how do I stop these installation prompts, and also what is Sonic exactly?   Thanks.

I believe Sonic is the name of software for Sony music players. Do you or does anyone who uses the computer, have a Sony music player?

If no one does, you can try going to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, and remove whatever is left of it.

If someone does indeed have a Sony music player, use the Sonic CD it came with to fix the installation.

sonic record now is your encoding software for burnig cds or dvds.... if you have a new system and you did not receive any CDs from dell call thier tech support dept. 18008228965 ask for the sonic disc and the media kit.   they should send it to you for free

sonic record now is your burning software. its also considered an encoding software because you can encode AVI to DVD. you need it because this software contains the codecs you need to burn media
