Annoying Persistant Error Message

Whenever signing into MSN/Windows Live Messenger, I get this error about a corrupt file:
The file or directory/Documents and Settings/Stephanie Cascio/Local Settings/temporaryinternetfiles/Content.IE5/

There's a whole bunch of numbers and letters after it and apparently it is a jpg file. It also says it is corrupt and unreadable and to run chkdsk utility. Any suggestions on what to do and what the problem is?

I  also ran an anti-spyware and deleted all cookies/temporary internet files. I  ran an error check on the whole C Drive and yet the error still comes up. I'm very frustrated because I'm not sure what else I can do to try to fix it.

Clean out your temporary Internet files.

I had a Dell Representative remotely try to fix the problem. They had uninstalled MSN Explorer and reinstalled it, but to no avail. I believe they had deleted all the temporary internet files already though.

Humor me and do the procedure anyway.

Ah, thank you. It did work and I will empty the temporary internet files folder on the daily basis in hopes of it never happening again.

You can set it to do that for you, open IE and go to      tools/internet options/advanced tab,   scroll down and tick the box " empty temp internet files folder when browser is closed"  hit OK.

I had already done that, actually. Thanks again, you were a great help.
