Another Stupid upgrade Question.

I ordered this P.C. on 1/1/07. I did not go for the Express upgrade. Will I still get a Free upgrade to Vista at some point in time. Or will I have to buy it when I decide to use it. I am not in a hurry to run Vista, I would rather watch and learn from the early user's until the dust settles. Thank You in Advance. If your system is vista ready and capable of running vista and aero but did not choose the express upgarde when buying your system you may be able to ring Dell and enquire that you bought you system in the upgrade deadline. And say that you forgot to check the upgrade option and if it would be possible for Dell to send you the upgrade when available in march early april

That link deals w/ Express upgrade and sorting what P.C. will run what part of Vista ei, Areo etc. This XPS 410 should run it all. My question still is will I recive an upgrade to Vista at some point in time, As I said before I did not go for the Express upgrade option. I think I recall that when I selected the solfware option that it had a upgrade to Vista inclued, Just not an " Express Upgrade" included. I just need to get clear on what to exspect. I am trying to get this information here, As I would rather pull my own eyes out  than have to call DELL. Thank You Again. Tele2

Check your order confirmation sheet. Express upgrade should be selected or you will not get it. If not you can try calling Dell but good luck wih that.

tele2, You should have no problem getting the upgrade, however you need to call Dell to get the information you need to put the upgrade information on dellvistaupgrade.com Like others has stated on the board it'll be awhile before you'll actually GET the upgrade. So you might want to think about buying it outright yourself if you want it any time soon.

This is what it says on the upgrade FAQ:

What if I did not select the upgrade to Windows Vista™ at the time I purchased my system from Dell? If the qualifying system was purchased during the program eligibility window, (October 26, 2006 – March 15, 2007), that system is eligible for an Express Upgrade from Dell. Customers will not be allowed to redeem an upgrade after March 31, even if the system was purchased during the eligibility window.

What is included with the Express Upgrade to Windows Vista upgrade package? 1. Microsoft operating system upgrade DVD 2. Dell Upgrade DVD – includes the Dell Upgrade Assistant (tool that walks the customer through the process), BIOS, drivers, and application patches (if available). 3. New Windows Vista license or Certificate of Authenticity (COA) 4. Dell produced tech sheet/upgrade instructions
