Application Error

Greetings,

I am currently experiencing an application error when using my estimating software for my construction company. This is the first time I've had this problem, and it worked fine before.

I am using software known as BID2WIN. Their technical support has been working with me, and it seems that the problem is with XP Professional installed on this desktop.

When I click to start the program, it automatically pops up a widow stating that there is an application error with the program (BID2WIN.EXE). I have uninstalled the program and re-installed it and had the same effect. It states the following test: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application."

Any help to resolve this issue ASAP would be greatfully appreciated.

Try a system restore. Click on Start/all programs/accesories/system tools/system restore and go back to a date when the application worked.

Aha! the old "it's not my problem" routine and the customer is left holding the bag trying to find a solution.

If everything else works OK the problem is back to that application. XP doesn't "pick" on any one program.

However, if you are having a problem with a particular program the correct procedure is to uninstall it, Restart Windows, then do a fresh install. If you just uninstall it and reinstall it without restarting Windows you could wind up with the same problem.
