You and your friend should try this.

Open Outlook Express - Tools - Options - Security tab -

Change the Radio button to "Internet Zone" (less secure)

Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentionally be a virus"

Uncheck "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail.

But please make sure you are running an Antivirus program for you email first for safety.

Later, Conrad

This is the list of "unsafe attachments" for OE:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291369/EN-US/

If what you are trying to send has one of those extensions and you know for sure it isn't harmful, you can edit the file extension to .aaa and tell the recipient to rename it back to the original extension. For example if the attachment was xyz.exe, tell him/her to rename the attachment from xyz.aaa to xyz.exe and it should open. This not recommended unless you have AV software (currently updated) running on your machine and know the attachment is safe.
