Backup and Recovery ?
I recently upgraded to Win 10 on a Dell 660s that is rarely used. After the installation and while learning the new system I realized that "backup and recovery" is nowhere to be found. Doing some research I found that this program was to be updated prior to the installation. (I don't recall getting any nags to do this)
"CAUTION: Before upgrading your system to Windows 10 you must have the latest updates to Dell Backup and Recovery 1.8 installed to ensure that the software will work after the upgrade. For more information please see the following article Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) and Windows 10"
Reading the above- it looks like it may to late without reverting back to win 8.1 - any work arounds for this.
Best Regards

I have tried to install the version 1.9.0.22 but it says it can not be installed on my system. I now see I have another Dell at my office with the same issue. Was I supposed to get a notification prior in the upgrade that Backup and Recovery needed updating prior to install ? Not sure it's worth the trouble of two re installs to resolve this. I guess this mean my recovery usb drives are useless ? Correct ?

snafu34,
You will need to go back to windows 8 and install DBAR. Once that is installed you can update to Windows 10. You would not have gotten any notification to update the dbar.

Jesse- I see that "Disk Management" says my recovery partitions are 100% empty. If I revert back to Win 8.1 will that information be available again ? I learned last night that my XPS 8500 is NOT on the Del conforming list which is hard to fathom. Yet- my older 660s is compliant. That said- I see alot of people have upgraded this 8500 without long term issues. I'm on the fence-----

snafu34,
Click on the DBAR dashboard that is installed on your computer and there should be an option to upgrade DBAR to the latest version. Below is information on how to install with Windows 10.
Dell systems that have Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) and have upgraded to the Windows 10 operating system will notice a Dell Recommended Update on the Dell Backup and Recovery dashboard. This Windows 10 update will update DBAR to version 1.9, which is fully compatible with Windows 10.
