Backup in Windows XP

When backing up files on my computer, when the disk becomes full I receive a message that the disk is full. How can you get the backup to continue to another disk when backing up large files?

Do you have another disc or portable hard drive?  Make sure you are not starting in the wizard mode.

Let me try this again. When I tried backing up to the Backup Utility, when I went to the bottom left corner to tell the program where to save the file I got an error message that said:" A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent further damage to your computer." Then it tells you to check any newly installed hardware and make sure it is installed properly. If the problem persist, remove the hardware. And, at the bottom of the message is says: "Stop: 0x00000027  - Udfreadr_xp.sys  Address F464E805 at F4641000, Datestamp 3f125810. Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance."

I have not installed anything. This is a brand new computer I just got from Dell last week.
