Backup problem
I am trying to use the XP backup program...using the Wizard...I select the files...select the destination as 'D'...click Next and get
"The backup file name could not be used D:/ May 2006 Backup.bkf"
"Please ensure it is a valid path and you have sufficient access"
Any suggestions welcomed,
Matt.

Is D:\ your CDrom? If so, backup your data to your hard drive and then copy it over to your CDrom if it fits on a CD.
Thanks

Irish,
Thanks - D is my CDrom...I tried to backup and now have 9 files when I do a search...these are C Windows Internet Logs RDB files
(2)(3)(2) with 1.24mb
others are similar until Backup RDB file 1.25mb and the last one is NT Backup.exe-2A990C03.
I have gone from about 31-6 free space to 30-8.
Is it safe to delete these files and try again?
Matt.

Thanks guys, but..I go to backup or restore wizard...I click 'let me choose what to backup'...next, I choose My Documents... Next,Backup type destination and name...
The first box...Select the backup type is not live...I have only the choice of D drive or 3.5 inch floppy...
Am I missing something?
Matt.
PS - coming from Glasgow I am getting some local help today? I regret having highlighted this post but can't see how to put it back in the list.

OK - I followed your advice and made the backup...Thanks again.
I now have "Active backup destination:File"
Media name "desktop created 26/05/2006 at 11:30
Backup (via shadow copy) of "C:"
Backup set #1 on media #1
etc etc
Files 402 Bytes 403638697...
How can I now find this file and put it on a CD for safety?
Matt.
