Batch file to force power settings??

Question

I have my power settings set as follows: Turn off display: 15 minutes Turn off harddrive :20 minutes Computer to Sleep : 60 minutes ...but evertime I run my tv tuner card, a windows message appears telling me it will have to change my display settings, and sure enough, it changes the 'turn display off 'setting to NEVER. I dont think I can change the above behaviour, but is there a shortcut/batch file I can create and run to reset/force power settings? Righ now I manuually change them back, but that's a pain. I would rather create a one time batch file to start the tv tuner software, and on exit run the power setting batch file.

Tricky one!

Did the card come with the Dell? If not have you tried the support for your tv card to see if they have a fix/work around or maybe they have a support forum where other users have this problem and maybe got round it?

No - the card didnt come with the Dell - its an older card ( Ultra TV PCI 350 TV Tuner-FM-PVR) that I popped from another machine.   Thanks for the note re vendors support site - I sent them a note, so we'll see. I also tried running the software in compatibility mode, but it didnt address the issue.   I suspect the only workaround here is to find a utility or batch file that restores power management settings to default.
