if the files are only kilobytes, then dont worry. check though that they arent important. It should tell you when you want to delete if they are important or not. if you have been on the internet on it after the re-install, it could be a virus. i strongly recommend you run a virus scanning program (ie. macaffe or norton). If you dont have any of these go on www.download.com there is bound to be a free virus scanner there,

hope this has helped, lyndon

axlxex,

The figures you report are not unusual for the three processes you listed, in fact they are somewhat low. No action is required on your part, Windows is operating properly.

Hi,

You know what? Memory management is a dicey thing. Just to be on the safe side I would download a copy of Sandra and have it analyze your memory management. It's one thing to speculate, it's quite another to have your system analyzed and then see the numbers.

Here is an article I've written about Sandra. In fact, I would not even run a system these days without using this software. All top PC Magazines use this software for system diagnostics and comparisons.

SiSoftware Sandra a pretty face on basically a worthless tool.  Examples

1 - Stating the all my memory slots is full, and is true, but is that a performance issue?

2 - Stating my refresh rate is 60 Hz, that I should raise it, is not a performance.  I have my LCD set that way on recommendations of the Manufacture of the LCD.  Also there is no flicker, so why change it.

3 - It can not detect my firewall, which is actually, but undetectable since it is a hardware firewall, and again is this s performance issue?

4 - Can't detect my AV, which is on and is software, their problem not mine.

Al the rest - They don't like my "Double Click Speed", who cares it works just fine for my level of dexterity.  They don't like my CPU because it doesn't support Data Extraction Protection" (DEP), therefore I should immediately buy a new PC, I think not.  My OS requires product activation - so what.  Again none of these are performance issues.  P.S. I will now remove this useless piece of software

I have absolutely no idea why, are they possibility using the paid version?  Comparisons yes, but we were talking about performance.  As I write this I am looking at your article.  I have taken all you point under the screen shots and in my opinion catagorized as performance issues or not, here goes - Tip 210 Get a faster CPU - it will increased performance, but it becomes a different system. Notice 224 - I have no idea what it means.  Tip 201 BIOS is old - not a performance issue.  Tip 212 BIOS can be shadowed, could be a performance issue.  Warning 214 Surface mounted Flashable BIOS,  not a performance issue.  For the Video issues, since I can not read the complete comments I will use your summary.  Old BIOS is not a performance issue.  Increasing the refresh above that which eliminates flicker is unnecessary.  On my PC with a flat panel display 60 Hz is sufficient.  And the best for last "Turn off screen saver, and use the moniter power saver", Why?

That's interesting...

I wonder why PC Magazine and Maximum PC Magazine (just to name two) use Sandra for their system analysis?

Perhaps we are off getting off target...

Rather than you and I playing Sandra volleyball I choose to spend my time more constructively.

The simplist way to "shut me up" is to post a detailed reply to the issues I raised,  i.e "How does a surface mounted BIOS" effect performance?  Instead you, the collective you, chose to attack me.  It is important that others reading this thread see that there is more that one opinion about performance.
