Blue screem error - 0x0000008e, ialmdev5.dll

Question

Whenever I start up my computer, it gives me a blue screen error and says it's error 0x0000008e and mentions file ialmdev5.dll. I tried to find the new video drivers, because I saw on here that might help, but I can't tell what kind of video stuff I have because I can only use the computer in safe mode. Please help.

ialmdev5.dll is, as far as I could find, part of the Intel graphics controller, Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller, but it may also be part of other graphics controllers, and you would need the right one for your PC.   What model is you PC? Do you have a separate graphics card or is it the integrated graphics card?   In device manager, is there an Intel graphics controller listed? If so what does it say?   You can download the latest version of the appropriate intel graphics controller from the Intel site:   http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Support_Intel.aspx   click on graphics, then desktop graphics controllers, then on the number you need, as indicated in device manager.
