AAAAARGH! How to put this politely. I use my computer for e-mail, casual internet browsing, word processing and work related business (Quickbooks). The other night I was browsing the internet and all of a sudden, the mouse froze. I could not do a soft reboot, so I shut it down and turned it back on only to boot up to the dreaded "Blue Screen Of Death!" I cannot load windows; every time it boots to this screen, even when trying in safe mode. As the title states it is a Registry_Error with the following mumbo jumbo on the bottom: ***STOP 0x00000051 (0x00000001, 0xE1FB66E0, 0x00709000, 0x000001D6). I have no idea what this means. I have looked up numerous resources and "tricks" to get this thing running and still get the BSOD. So far this is what I have tried to no avail: 1. boot up to safe mode, 2. boot up with winXP disk, 3. boot up with one memory stick (2 x 256 sticks), 4. even took out my hard drive and connected to another computer via a USB 2.0 IDE/SATA Adapter. I was able to read my hard drive and ran a scan for viruses (clean). Is there anyone out there in the Dell Community that can help me with this problem? Also, why does this happen? From numerous internet searches and posts, it seems many people are using their computers casually and all of a sudden, things quit working properly. No one can precisely answer the questions on how to fix this or what is causing this problem. Is this a ploy by the company to generate more revenue by forcing us to purchase new computers? Someone please help.
