BlueScreen at installation: 0x0000007B..check for viruses..

Hi,

I have the new Dimension E520 (Core 2 Duo, 2,13GHz, 250 GB SATA..) with
a formatted hard disk (and before deleted partitions; because we don't need
Windows Media Center Edition..)

Now I have tried many times to install Windows XP x64 but I get an error, a blue screen
with the following messages:
(every message with "check for viruses on computer" but there is no virus! I have to do
chkdsk /f but I cant really boot something, and I don't have a floppy disk!)

- 0x0000007B (0xF78E1524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
- 0x0000007B (0xF78E563C, ...)
- 0x0000007B (0xFFFFFADFE4A323C0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, ...)

I can't install any Windows versions. I get always the same blue screen.

What can I do?

many thanks
Jumo

You need the SATA drivers when prompted for them.

My Demansion 9200 got the same problem when I was trying to install the Window 2000 since one of my application needs either WIN XP PRO or WIN 2K SP4. Is there an easy way to get around this?

Thanks.

Hi Zuben,

Thanks for the fast response, which Raid or SATA driver you used since you have the same 9200? I wasn't able to find that from Dell's driver download area, it would be great if you can give me a link or anything. Thanks again.

No the drivers on the website are only half the story.
There were some drivers in c:\drivers when the 9200 was delivered.
I copied them before changing raid settings (which destroys data) & they work like a charm

Really, I did a clean install of XP home already after I received it, I thought I can find all of drivers from Dell. Is it possible that the Dell Resource CD which comes with the PC has all of the drivers? or can you send me the drivers you saved?  I should have ordered the XP pro when I bought this PC.

Thanks again.

Actually the XP Home CD comes with my new 9200 doesn't have any problems to install, does that mean it has the neccessary drivers on that CD? I am still a little bit confused.

Hi,

we don't have a CD from Dell, because, we don't needed a OS...but it comes with Win Media Center on it (in the price included).

Also, we don't have the drivers...

Now, the machine is running! :-)
We have built a new Win-XP-CD with the drivers (very important the iaStore..-driver) included. That works fine.

Thanks a lot @ all
