Bluetooth Driver
In updating to Windows 7, the only driver it didn't find was for my Bluetooth 370 Module 2.1. When I go the the web site, looks like there are 2 Vista drivers shown that say Bluetooth. Should I pick on of those, or try the Dell disk?

todd_l,
Have you tried installing the Win7 64-bit driver for the Ricoh controller from support.dell.com? It's available here, if you want to give it a shot.

No, I don't think that's it. When I look at my original order, the part number is 430-3209. It doesn't "Mini Card" on it, if that matters.

Jesse/Chris,
Any thoughts before I start experimenting? I downloaded the "first" on on the Dell site for Vista (not the one the referenced Vista SP1, but the other one).

todd_I, If I'm right, I think that bluetooth is actually made by Broadcom for Dell. If you can take a look at it, & it say Broadcom on the board, then you can go here: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

I don't know then. If you knew the manufacture, remember Dell doesn't actually make the parts, then you could go to the manufactures website to see if you could find the driver. Also, have you ran Windows Update yet?

after poking around, I think I'm going to try that download you gave on the broadcom site. The Dell ones are part of a larger Vista service pack - not sure I'm comfortable installing that now that all my other Win 7 is up and running fine.

Thanks, yes 64-bit. Downloading now, I'll let you know how it goes.

Saw a post on this under notebookreview forums, it sounds like it's a unresolved issue. Think I'll wait until somebody provides an update or an easy fix.

todd_l,
Not sure if you're running 32-bit or 64-bit Win7, but if you're running 64-bit, it looks like we have a driver for that card on the Alienware site. Driver is here if you want to give it a shot.

Well it installed the driver, but I still have an unknown device in my system (which I thought was my bluetooth). In Device Manager it is "Other Devices - Base System Device". The location is PCI bus 9, device 1, function 3.
Also, when I click on the Bluetooth icon in lower right, it says "No items match your search". This makes me think the driver software isn't linked to the actual device (although this is where my computer knowledge gets fuzzy).

todd_l,
What kind of system do you have? I think your Base System Device may be a reference to the Ricoh cardbus driver, but knowing the system model would help me make sure. (Forgive me if you've already mentioned that--didn't see it in any of your previous posts.)
