Bluetooth Peripheral Device

Hi,

I installed Vista Ultimate on D610 and when I connect my mobile phone using bluetooth, Vista requires a new hadware / driver called - bluetooth peripheral device. Does anyone know where I can get it?

I am using two kind of mobile phone. Motorola and Samsung.

Thanks.

I can't get blue tooth working on my Ispiron E1450 laptop since I upgraded to Vista Home Premium. There is a new driver on the dell web site for the Dell 355 bluetooth module, but I can't get it to install. Keeps getting messages to uninstall my existing version (which I have done several times and rebooted afterwards). I have chatted online with Dell about this twice, They have not been able to help me either time, they keep telling me their "tools" are down.I have been told that they expect to get all the problems with drivers fixed by April 30. The adviser tool did not say that their would be a problem with the bluetooth, if I can;t get it fixed, will need to revert back to XP

Well, after 3 chat sessions with Dell (and of course they never did the promised call back), they are saying it works fine, but of course it doesn't. I keep getting a msg that bluetooth needs to be turned on (when it already is and the indicator light is lite). Bluetooth worked fine BEFORE the upgrade, guess its back to XP.

Well, I have to give someone at Dell an A for persistence and effort. While the first three people had no idea what they were doing, the 4th one seemed to know. I allowed him to remote into my laptop and he managed to get the Bluetooth working. It took him almost an hour and hour of work though. Basically he had to uninstall all the drivers and hardware, install a utility and reinstall the hardware and then reinstall the drivers. It appears after only about 12 hours of work, I have a copy of VISTA that is working (well with most applications). I do NOT recommend that any upgrade to VISTA on their primary or only PC, there are still too many apps that are not working and it took me five days (could only work at night on doing the 12 hours of work the upgrade took at night). Don't trust that the adivor will give you right information about the upgrade process.

Hi Mike,

I have installed several applications and all of them are working fine. Do you have Bluetooth Peripheral Driver? If so, would it be possible for you to send me?

For my laptop, I dont think that uninstall and install would be the best solution, since, as I said, everything is working fine.

What do you connection with bluetooth? I connect mobile phone, because, sometimes, I need to use internet and I need to dial in order to use EDGE connection.

Thanks.

Hello. I found another solution for those, who werent able to install the Bluetooth Peripheral Device on Windows Vista (SP1) or btwinitialupdate. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (bluetooth 2.0 + EDR). During the instalation, the system found 5 devices. The system is able to install two of them with the BT drivers, but the other three must be installed manually. It is the BT hands-free, BT remote control and BT stereo audio. Proceed the same way as with WIN98.

Unfortuantely (in some respects) I gave up on Vista and went back to Windows XP and don't have any of the Vista bluetooth drivers anymore.  Between the bluetooth issues and the speed (dead slow) of the laptop uneer Vista, it just made a lot more sense to use XP and have a speedy laptop that worked consitently than to deal with VISTA.
