 Hi Supperbowl,

If you can see the windows xp logo, its unlikely an issue with the drive. It should be something gotcha do with windows itself. Rather booting to a different drive, try to boot to safe mode. i.e press f8 before the windows xp logo appears and select safe mode.

Hi - my daughter-in-law has a Latitude CSx laptop with similar problem, but it goes to 'safe' mode and we click out of there and/or wait the laptop to reboot once the time runs down, and it acts like it's going to reboot up, but we end up back at the safe mode screen. We done this a few times and still does the able. So what's the next step to fixing this problem b/4 she sells it on e-bay for parts!
