Did it put a dump file on the root of C, you might try to analyze that dump file to see what happened.

At what point during setup did it crash?

32bit  or 64bit

am also getting BSOD while installing 2003 32bit on t3500.

the bluescreen appears while "setup is starting windows " in the initial stage.

i tried changing the diffrent sata modes in bios.

Hi there,

for all which have this problem too on a Precision T3500:

  • Try to use the internal floppy (maybe a USB Floppy will work too, but this is the point, I am not sure about)
  • Only use a InstallationDisk with Server 2003 included SP2 or WinXP Prof with SP3 - anything else, won't work!
  • Use the correct RAID-Driver and includ it by the first installation-screen (by pressing F6)

That's it.

P.s.: RAID-Config in the BIOS is on SATA-Mode

Is this confirmed to work? Has anyone successfully loaded Windows Server 2003 on a Precision T3500?

Drivers for the Intel X58 chipset can be found on this page, choose your OS then download and use the F6 driver diskette package.

Downloaded, put them in a floppy drive and when specifying device it reads the disk and comes back stating to insert the manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk onto drive A:\.  Trying to install MS Server2k3 32-bit standard edition, BIOS is set to RAID Autodetect/AHCI

Downloaded -

Intel® Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver Diskettes -
File name:
10.8_f6flpy-x86.zip
Any help would be appreciated

Do you have SP2 on your 2003 media?  Driver may require SP2.  I would use nLiteOS.com to integrate SP2 into your media, and while you're at it, use it to integrate the drivers into your media as well (in nLite, use Multiple Drivers and TextMode).

Is it the T3500 server?

Did you put ALL the files from the zip onto the diskette?

Maybe you have a different chipset then, you would need to confirm you have the x58 Intel chipset.

I don't believe the Precision T3500 was ever available with a different chipset.

SP2?
