Clagow,

Please give the complete; i.e., STOP: 0x000000xx (....), bugcheck code on your BSOD.  Microsoft ALWAYS gives possible causes and possible resolutions for it's stop codes.  However, there can be several causes and correspondingly several resolutions to the same bugcheck code.  The trick is to determine which one applies to a specific case.

Older Dells did not come with Dell PC Restore partitions nor with System Restore CDs.  The Dell Reinstallation CD for Windows is simply an OEM Windows XP CD.  You should have received it, as well as Dell Applications and Drivers CD(s) with your purchase.  If not, request them from the seller as they are useless on any machine other than a Dell.  Windows XP drivers for the GX240 are available for download here:  http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_GX240&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Note: Dell Reinstallation CD for Windows XP is preactivated therefore no problems activating Windows with Microsoft.

Hope this info helps.

Tony
