BSOD, Windows Logo Testing error while installing Dell drivers (from Dell!)

I've had my Dell Inspiron 9400 (WinXP) for my small business for over a year. I haven't had any major problems until now. I've been getting the odd random blue screen of death for no apparent reason (although one time I got it when I pulled my cordless mouse USB thing out of the port). Also, every time I put a USB flash drive into a USB port, I get the error that 'the software you are installing for this hardware has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows XP.' (Continue or STOP). I've used the Flash drive a hundred times before. It's like it's forgetting it's already installed. So I thought I'd run the drivers/diagnostics CD from Dell to re-install some drivers. When doing so, I get the same error that the software doesn't pass Windows Logo Testing! Then I went to the Dell website to download drivers (especially any urgent ones), and each one during install creates the same error that the software hasn't passed Windows Logo Testing! I just restarted and got the same Windows Logo error for a 'High Precision Event Timer' and 'Microsoft Windows Management Interface for ACPI'. I wasn't even trying to install anything! Immediately after the second message, I got BSOD with 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA' with a stop message of 0x00000050 (if that helps). Can anyone help me out here? I was told to ignore those Windows Logo Testing messages by going to control panel > system > hardware > driver signing > ignore.

For the STOP error, I was told to replace the 2 memory modules with the old ones and reboot. I have no idea what that means! Is this something I can do?
