Camera install wizard cannot find driver
I've downloaded a new USB driver for my camera, one for WindowsXP. When I try and install it via the Control Panel, and Add a New Imaging Device, and browse for the driver, the programme only lets me see Setup Information (.inf) files so I am unable to point the programme at the driver. Presumable it is the System File and not the Setup Info File that I should be selecting?
I expect I've just revealed my considerable ignorance about such things :-)

There should have been instructions, either on the download page or in a readme file inside the zip package (if that is what you downloaded). It may be that you have to extract the files to some folder first.

I did have a cursary read of the readme file but I may have missed something, I'll have another look. I can't manage it until tomorrow evening however. I suspect I may not have downloaded the right file. I've posted a message on a forum for my camera brand (Ricoh) but haven't had a response yet.
Thank you for your advice so far. I'll keep you posted.

I've tried them in the past and seem to recall it was difficult to get a response from them. But you're right, I should try them again. Thanks.

I did try Ricoh but they couldn't resolve the problem. The installation programme has now informed me that the camera's USB driver is successfully installed, but I don't think it is because there is no way of accessing the Photo Download Programme, no Icon or entry in the Programmes list. I've decided to buy a card reader, I think they are quicker anyway.
Thanks for the advice I received.
