thanks, i can now right click and click open but when i double click it still goes to find. under the shell folder there is a sub folder labeled find... should that be there? can i delete it?
something is wierd. its back to doin the same thing which is not letting me right click open. still says can not find the drive... and still searches when i double click. is there a way to default the folder options command or something? its not a huge deal if i cant fix it just sorta annoying that i have to right click and explore every time...

That registry edit should have correct the problem. The Find subfolder should be there and should not be deleted.

Try repeating Denny's procedure of editing the registry, but this time go to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Ckeck that the default says none in the data column; if not right click on default, click modify, type none, click OK. You might need to restart.
