Can Windows XP from Dell CD be installed onto another computer?

I have a Windows XP Home CD that came with my laptop. I want to transfer the license to another computer. I was wondering if I can use the Dell Windows XP CD to install Windows onto a non-Dell computer. Is the CD the same as a regular Windows XP Home CD or is it customized for Dell computers? Thanks
