Cannot access Microsoft, Avast, AVG sites on internet.
After virus and reformatting HDD, I still cannot go to some sites.(Microsoft,Avast,AVG,etc). Other sites work fine. I have disables the on-board Ethernet adapter and installed a Netware PCI card with same results.
Thanks

Thanks Rick. A local shop reformated it for me. Every thing else works great. Just cannot go to antivirus sites or Microsoft.
Thanks

weejuns,
When you reformatted, did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

weejuns,
Are you saying that Windows Updates fail to install?

No Rick. The format went fine. All programs loaded back as well. The problem is when I try to go to the Microsoft page to get the updates the browser will not load their page. Nor will it load any Antivirus sites. I can go to CBS, ABC, MSNBC, Ebay, USA Today or any other sire except Microsoft and AV sites.

weejuns,
Make and model of your computer and opertaing system. 32-bit or 64-bit? If you're not sure, the try running Finding System Information and remove your product ID and I can tell from that.

SOLVED!!!! Downloaded Microsoft Malicious Software removal tool onto a jump drive and ran on the Dell and it found the problem. How could the problem remained on the computer after three reformats? Could it have been in the NVRAM?
Thanks for your help.
