Cannot access p.c. restore

Question

My 1st computer experience is a dimension 3000 that I've had for 3 months.After recurring problems I decided to really mess things by re-formatting and installing a second O.S.(failed AND deleted the restore partition). At this point I realised why p.c. restore and system restore hadn't solved my problems. The cause was operator error.(my fault) Too trigger happy on the mouse, not waiting for programs to close,etc. After a bit of research I undeleted the lost restore partition but CTRL+F11 no longer worked.I have succesfully split C into 2 partitions and installed XP on the other partition as a back-up O.S. but (now that I'm not messing things up so much) I would really like to return to the as shipped condition and start again. Have I messed it about too much?

cameusrotts, See if the procedures given here can restore the functionality of the PC Restore feature.
