Hi I have a 8250 P4 dell computer, win xp sp1 home edition, and I cannot delet the history folder after surfing the web. I have tried going to tools, internet options and then delete history a million times, along with delete temporarty internet files and so forth. Can anyone please help me with this problem?

You could try deleting the actual History Folder by using Search Advanced (1st 3 boxes ticked) for  history
then right click on C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\History & Delete to Recycle Bin.
If needed you can replace form Recycle Bin or it might be auto created again , don't know never tried to delete it.

Edit
Just tried & it can't be deleted.
So right click on above Folder select "Containing Folder"  , double click on it then right click on a Day & select Delete.

You could try reinstalling IE using
You can get Doug Knox fix vbs file & info to re-install IE & or OE using
his Auto VBS script , removes installed markings & runs command line.
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_ie_reinstall.htm
Just authorize Script. (Installs from XP CD , if CD contains XP+Sp1 then should also have IE6+Sp1)

or manually remove installed markings using Doug Knox site link to Microsoft info & download IE+SP1 from Microsoft link
(IE+SP1 contains OE as it is part of IE)

i thnk that using "clear history" in ie/tools/options/general, and then either closing ie or rebooting would clear the history... i have noticed before that clearing the history was a little difficult, but i am seeming to have no trouble clearing the history, now..
