Looks like Yahoo Messenger is not compatible with Vista at this time. However theres a web based version via Yahoo Mail Beta that lets you talk through messenger through a web interface.

   Yahoo is compatible with Vista, you must have some other issue. Wish I could help, it installed in mine fine. i downloaded the install file to my desktop, clicked "run as administrator", and it went right in.
