Cannot remove McAfee HELP

Question

Okay, I really didn't want this program on my new dimension 8400 but they stuck it on here anyway...... I have been reading this thread. http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=sw_other&message.id=43732

One, there is no place to register. 2) I cannot remove it. The only thing that is listed in my add/remove applet is the firewall. So how in the heck do I get rid of this now.(all of it, firewall, AV and security center) I am a little ticked off at this and a good reason why I don't like McAfee!

Makes ya think Dell did this on purpose so you would have to get the program.

Thanks, actually it showed up this time in add/remove..... removed viruscan and firewall.  I cannot remove the security center...... there is no listing, I checked once again but did follow the instructions for removing that.... my folders were empty as far as that goes.... so I just disabled it........ I have the mcafee.com folder sitting under c:\program files\mcafee.com  though.........so not sure if I still have to follow through with the rest of the stuff in there.  this is the pitts!

If you still have a McAfee folder in the C:/programs folder, and there is nothing in the add/remove programs list. I would move it to the recycle bin, but don't empty it. Then check and see if everything is working ok. You can restore the folder back if you need to later.

Go to Uninstall Mcafee and follow directions from the number 8 question.
