Cannot Run Dell Vista Upgrade Advisor

I get a message, "The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy - Requested registry access is not allowed".  What do I turn off to get around this?

Thanks,

Ol' Fred

Could be you are not logged on as the Administrator or that your account does not have Administrator authorization.  Could also be your antivirus software.

ADDED: Does the Microsoft Vista Advisor run?

The Microsoft advisor ran with no problem and said my laptop would run VIsta Home Premium. This is on my Inspiron E1550. The reason I wanted to run the Dell utility is that when I ran it on my DIM 8400,  it was a little more in depth about driver upgrades and such. I have downloaded and installed the latest recommended drivers on my DIM.

I may still wait a while to see how other's upgrades are going before I jump.

Thanks for the reply,

Ol' Fred

I found the MS Advisor better than the Dell Advisor. More specific about programs and hardware and didn't try to sell me anything. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx
