Cannot see jpeg thumbnails.....any suggestions?

Hello-

For some reason, I can no longer see jpeg thumbnails on some websites.  For example, if you go to www.realtor.com and enter the parameters for a house, several listings will appear but in the place where you would normally see a thumbnail of the house, it is now the description.  But once you click on that description, it takes you to another page and a picture that I can see.

On other sites,  I get the 2 small red x's.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do to correct this problem?  Thank you so much in advance for your time.

Red X usually means picture isn't available at present.
I used the site you listed http://www.realtor.com  & entered  Los Angeles CA  & it worked OK.
The main page also shows a Thumbnail picture can you see that.
If so maybe the Houses don't have a picture so what details are you entering for "City"  & "State".?

Sometimes if you right click where the red x is and then click show picture then the picture will show I don't know if it will in this case or not.

This only works if IE , Advanced tab "Multimedia"  , "Show pictures" isn't ticked.
Then it shows a small box with three symbols in it.

Specifies whether graphical images should be included when pages are displayed.
Sometimes pages that contain several graphical images are displayed very slowly. If you want to display pages more quickly, make sure this check box is cleared.
When this check box is cleared, *** you can still display an individual image by right-clicking the icon that represents the graphic and then clicking Show Picture. ***

Hi,

On the site I mentioned http://www.realtor.com the thumbnails that appear once you enter the criteria appears when I access the site from another PC.  So, I know it's my Dell PC at home that for some reason a setting must be wrong.  This was just one example that I gave, but there are numerous websites where the same thing happens.  Sometimes you see the box with the red x's and other times just no picture at all.  There has to be some jpeg file that I'm missing.

When I did a search on this message board there were some fixes for this problem but they were listed under Windows 98.  Would those fixes possibly work on XP?

Thanks!

Hi again-

I need to clarify that on the Realtor.com site, instead of showing the thumbnail it list the file name of that particular jpeg.....and not the red x's.  I have seen the red x's on many other sites, I had forgotten that it was just the actual description (or file name) of that jpeg that appears in lieu of the thumbnail.  I checked my Advanced Setting and the show pictures box was checked.

Appreciate any other suggestions as I'm at a loss!!
