I have a Dimension 41   using Windows XP Home Edition.  Recently, when I tried to restart it, it would not boot to Windows.  I starts to show the Windows XP logo, then recycles to restart, by going back to the  BIOS, and the Controller BIOS, and then this cycle repeats continuously.  When I press F8, it will not start in any of the options (Safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, Last good configuration, or anything else).  When I choose do not restart from an error, the blue screen has the following error code:

I have been able to get to a DOS prompt and ran Scandisk, Chkdsk /p and Norton Antivus Norton Disk Coctor which which no errors. I cannot run WinDoctor from DOS

 

I cannot get to the GoBack's Boot Screen to restore or revert to an earlier setup.

 

I can get to the Restore Console, but do not know which Command Actions to choose, such as Bootcfg, Fixboot, or something else that would help.

 

I do have 2 hard drives, with both having all the same programs and settings, I believe.  Last week I installed SyncToy to syncronize synchronize disks' copies of Documents and Settings.  I have not yet checked out the other secondary Slave to verify it. 

 

I have an new controller card with it own BIOS that I was using to access both the Master and Slave. 

 

I was thinking about swapping the 2 hard drives to determine if the older one could boot me up to windows.  If so should I then format the newer 160 GB hard drive, and then copy all the old HD ti the newer one, then swap it again to make it the Master again?
