CANNOT VIEW TEMPORARY FOLDER FILES

Question

I am unable to view the temporary folder files. They appear as an IE.tmp file, but they will not open. When I double click them, I get the Security Warning box asking if I want to open or save it. When I click 'open' they try to open, but then I get the same Security Warning box again. In the Security Warning box where it says 'Type:', it has 'tmp_auto_file'. Two file name examples are:  ~DF65B6.tmp and DIO1B4.tmp (both having the IE icon in front of them).   What can I do to change it so that I am able to view the temporary files? I used to be able to. I don't know why they changed.   Thanks.

C:\Documents and Settings\ \Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
(Don't forget to replace username)
