Not sure what kind of restore you did.... Dell PC Restore or a complete reinstall of XP...    But you might try inserting your Windows reinstall CD and perform a repair of XP. Perhaps there might be a missing and/or corrupt file and the repair could correct it. Worth a shot, anyways...

Hello,
 
Open the case and check that all the power and ribbon cables are well pushed in
 
Check in the BIOS that the drive is recognised
 
Check if it will boot up now.
 
If not, try the Restore again
 
If none of the above help you will need a full XP installation CD to fix this ( not a Restore CD)
