Have you checked the obvious places-- AllPrograms/Startup, Msconfig, & the Run key in the Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Mary,

Yes...I found it under the "run" key and deleted it...let's see what happens. I'm rather ticked that Dell puts us in this position. If I was an average user, I wouldn't have a clue.

Dell's preload of "MyWay Search" is also buggy...the Add/Delete applet seems to remove it, but the next time you go back to Add/Delete, the item is still listed and there is no obvious way to remove it.

Ugh!!!

I just ran into this same irritating problem.
I used add/remove on Quickbooks but every now and then it'll still pop up something at startup. I just found something in MSCONFIG that I can try unchecking though.
It also left an Intuit thing in my printers list, as well as a bunch of files in Program Files.

Dell is still doing this and not helping when called about it (your hardware obviously works so I can't help you).

So far:

Add/Delete - uninstall the software

regedt32 - Delete the Key "QBReminderFlash"  which has the value "c:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks2005\Atom\QBReminder.exe" found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\RUN.

Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\Intuit"

Write Intuit and tell them that having Dell put Intuit Spyware on new PC's is not the way to win customers.

Write Dell...  .  oh, never mind.
